A Space Where You Don’t Have to Explain Every Part of Yourself

There’s a lot about young adulthood that can feel in between.

You may be figuring out who you are while navigating family and cultural expectations, relationships, career or school, independence, sexuality, gender, or questions about where you belong. For young adults who hold marginalized, multicultural, or intersecting identities, these transitions can carry additional layers that aren’t always understood by the people around you.

The In Between Process Group is a culturally affirming therapy group for young adults ages 18–30 who want a space to connect more deeply with themselves and others while exploring the experiences shaping their lives.

This group is designed especially for young adults from historically marginalized and minoritized communities, including BIPOC, Latinx/Latine, first-generation, multicultural, LGBTQ+, immigrant-family, and other culturally diverse identities.

Rather than asking you to separate parts of who you are, the group creates space to explore how culture, identity, family, relationships, community, and larger systems all intersect with your emotional well-being.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you join. In fact, the in-between may be exactly what we talk about.

WANT TO LEARN MORE?

You don’t have to know whether group therapy is right for you before reaching out. We’ll start with a conversation to learn more about what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and explore whether The In Between Process Group feels like a good fit.

What We May
Explore Together

The group will be shaped by what members bring into the room. Conversations may include:

  • Identity, culture, and belonging

  • Family and cultural expectations

  • Dating, friendships, and intimate relationships

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing

  • First-generation and immigrant-family experiences

  • LGBTQ+ identity and relationships

  • Navigating multiple or intersecting identities

  • Loneliness and finding community

  • Life transitions and uncertainty about the future

  • Self-worth, confidence, and authenticity

  • Learning how to build more meaningful and connected relationships

Why a Process Group?

A process group is different from a class or support group with a predetermined weekly topic. While members absolutely talk about what is happening in their lives, the relationships that develop within the group also become an important part of the therapeutic experience.

Together, members have opportunities to notice how they connect with others, express emotions and needs, respond to conflict or vulnerability, set boundaries, and navigate closeness and belonging.

Over time, the group can become a space to better understand relational patterns, receive honest and compassionate feedback, practice new ways of connecting, and experience being known and accepted by others.
