Does ACIP offer culturally responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy?

Yes. ACIP’s approach centers culturally responsive, identity-affirming care, including support for BIPOC, Latinx, and LGBTQIA+ communities. Individual clinicians bring different backgrounds, approaches, and areas of focus. Explore their profiles to find someone whose experience aligns with what you are seeking.

Can I work with a Spanish-speaking therapist?

ACIP offers Spanish-language and bilingual therapy through members of our clinical team. Language options and availability vary by clinician. Let us know your preferred language when requesting an appointment so we can help identify appropriate options.

Can I meet with a therapist in person or online?

ACIP offers in-person appointments in Atlanta and Decatur, as well as online therapy throughout Georgia and PSYPACT-eligible states. Available locations and formats vary by clinician. Confirm your preferred option when requesting an appointment.

How much does therapy cost, and can I use insurance?

Fees and insurance participation (we have several therapists in-network with Aetna) vary by clinician and service. Visit our Fees & Insurance page and your preferred therapist’s profile for details. Our team can help clarify current rates, equity pricing options, and whether a clinician participates in your plan before you schedule

What if I am not sure which therapist to choose?

You do not need to choose a clinician before contacting ACIP. Simply, let us know in your Appointment Request Form what you are looking for, including your preferred language, appointment format, and any scheduling or cultural/gender identity considerations. We will review the information and will match you with a therapist that best fits your needs.

How long does it take to get matched with a therapist?

Matching and appointment availability depend on your needs, preferred clinician, location, format, and current openings, but we are generally able to connect you with a therapist within 48 hours of receiving your Appointment Request Form. Or if you prefer, you can Contact us with your preferences, and our Client Care Coordinator can share available options and next steps.

What should I expect during my first therapy appointment?

Your first appointment is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, relevant history, and what you hope to receive from treatment. Your therapist will also explain their approach and answer questions so you can decide whether the fit feels right.

Can I change therapists if the fit is not right?

Yes, absolutely. Finding the right therapeutic relationship can take time. If your therapist does not feel like the best fit, let us know what you are looking for, and we are happy to help you explore other clinicians or available options.
