 Interpersonal Therapy

IPT focuses on strengthening  relationships and addressing interpersonal circumstances which may be contributing to depression.   It emphasizes the importance of attachment bonds and effective communication, and the idea that intimacy can protect against depression, especially during stressful life events.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT  uses a combination of cognitive and behavioral approaches to address symptoms of depression. CBT focuses on changing a person’s  depressive thinking patterns  to improve their feelings and behaviors CBT can help people with depression by helping them identify and replace negative thought patterns with more realistic and positive ones.

Acceptance & Commitment
Therapy (ACT)

ACT engages a number of techniques to increase psychological/mental flexibility. The use of acceptance and mindfulness strategies help clients to be fully present in the moment and to accept otherwise negative emotions.  Commitment and behavior change strategies help clients to change or persist in behaviors more in line with their own values.
