Bev Rosario-Williams, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Positionality: I identify as a Black, Latina, immigrant, cisgender woman. I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Caribbean. These experiences allow me to bring a bilingual and multicultural perspective to sessions.
My Background & Approach:
Hello, I’m Dr. Bev Rosario-Williams. Whether you’re facing overwhelming challenges, searching for clarity, or working to better understand yourself, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I provide therapy to children, teens, and adults, helping them navigate a variety of mental health concerns, from anxiety and stress to deeper emotional struggles. My approach is all about collaboration—together, we’ll uncover the patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back and develop tools to help you move forward with confidence.
I believe therapy should honor the whole person. That means understanding how your past experiences, cultural and family values, and even systemic challenges like discrimination or oppression shape who you are today. In our work, I’ll bring a culturally affirming and socially conscious perspective to ensure you feel seen and understood. Whether we’re exploring your inner world, celebrating your wins, or tackling tough moments, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are.
My style is flexible and rooted in compassion. Each session is tailored to your needs, and we’ll adjust as we go to make sure the work we’re doing aligns with your goals. I combine evidence-based techniques with a deep sense of empathy to help you build resilience, strengthen your relationships, and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
Clients often share that they feel comfortable opening up in our sessions, appreciating the space to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. Whether you’re a parent seeking support for your child, a young adult navigating life’s transitions, or someone looking to reconnect with yourself, I’m here to help you embrace your strengths, find your balance, and move toward the life you want. Let’s work together to create something truly transformative.
Theoretical & Clinical Orientation:
As a researcher and clinician, I believe in providing my therapy clients with high-quality, empirically supported treatment. I integrate evidence-based approaches to provide effective and culturally responsive care. My practice is guided by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-informed principles, and family systems interventions. I believe that understanding a person requires understanding the systems that influence them, including family dynamics, cultural values, and socio-economic and political contexts. I also know that many empirically supported interventions were not designed by or for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities; therefore, working collaboratively with clients, I adapt interventions to meet the needs of my clients.
My multicultural background also informs my approach to therapy. I grew up navigating different cultures, languages, peoples, and values, which allows me to have a deep appreciation for diversity of thought. As a bilingual, immigrant, I understand the nuances of navigating different sociocultural contexts. Using a trauma-informed lens, I work with clients to explore how childhood experiences, religion, and family values shape their identities and presenting concerns. Clients who work with me can expect a gentle, patient, yet affirming and challenging space to overcome their fears and begin living a life worth living.
Outside of Work:
When I’m not working with clients or diving into research, you’ll likely find me channeling my creative side by editing videos or taking on a new challenge in a dance class or improv session. I’m also a big fan of winding down with a good telenovela or a classic Law & Order marathon. On the weekends, I love hitting the open road for long drives or staying connected with loved ones through long, heartfelt phone calls. For me, it’s all about finding joy in creativity, connection, and the little adventures life brings!
